Srinagar, Mar 24 (KNO): A two-day ‘World of Work’ (WOW) workshop conducted by the PARAKH, NCERT under the leadership of Prof Indrani Bhaduri, CEO and Head, PARAKH in Kendriya Vidyaliya Shivpora commenced here on Monday.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the inaugural session was attended by Rifat Irfan Qadiri Principal DIET Srinagar, Coordinator PM Shri Manzoor Ahmad officials from School Education Department and SCERT-JK Srinagar , Principal ,staff and students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Shivpora Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Bhaduri highlighted the importance of WOW Workshop (World of Work) and stressed upon Principal and Officers of School Education Department to carry such workshop and discussion with all the students and they could understands that world is full of other career options and stressed upon the competency based education and all round development of the students.
The workshop was attended by more than 150 students, teachers and administrators. On the occasion the Holistic Progress card copies were handed over to the Officers from PARAKH and were requested to train all the teachers on HPC and HPC should be introduced in all the schools.
A team of experts from PARAKH and PHDCCI and SCERT presented PPT and conducted various activities with the students .
It is pertinent to mention there that PM Shri Schools in all states and union territories across the country are providing platform for students of grade IX and X to explore diverse career options, engage in skill-building activities, and gain exposure to emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence.
PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India. This initiative is intended to develop more than 14500 PM SHRI Schools managed by Central Government, State and UT Government, local bodies including KVS and NVS in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, and where good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students.
It will nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.
More than 20 lakh students are expected to be the direct beneficiaries of the scheme. The scheme will also promote an understanding of various dimensions of the Quality of school education and inform Policy, Practice and Implementation.
The learning from these schools will be scaled up to other schools in the country—(KNO)
